Mission Statement Today’s Catholic Newspaper, est. 1892, is the official publication of the Archdiocese of San Antonio, and provides the Catholic perspective on daily life for the Archdiocese. Catholic doctrines and teachings are presented clearly while the concerns of the Catholic laity are addressed. Today’s Catholic: enhances unity and understanding among people in the Archdiocese; promotes the educational and catechetical mission of the local and universal Church; provides spiritual guidance on post Vatican II directives; gives insight into Scripture passages and their application in today’s society; fosters understanding and appreciation of the multifaceted aspects of liturgy; challenges readers to adopt Christlike ways of approaching social and moral issues; supports school, parish and diocesan activities and programs; focuses attention on timely and pertinent topics affecting the lives of families, children, young adults, teenagers and senior citizens and encourages unity within the state and national Catholic press.
